As a contestant on Britain’s Best Home Cook – BBC1

I am thrilled to be able to announce that I am a contestant on BBC’s Britain’s Best Home Cook, with Episode 1 being shown on Thursday 3rd May at 8pm on BBC1.One of my (many!) dreams has been to cook on television, so to say this was a dream come true is no exaggeration!

To meet, let alone cook for Mary Berry, Chris Bavin and Dan Doherty was such a special experience. And this was topped off deliciously by having Claudia Winkleman presenting – who I have long been a fan of.

Seriously, this is a dream team!

Please tune in to cheer on me and my fabulous 9 fellow contestants.

  1. I am sooo disappointed… could not find a way to watch it… youtube is not showing anything (I had some luck with Great British Bake Off, watched every single episode over there)

really sad that I cannot watch it… 😦

I even considered Britbox, but they don’t have it listed…

    1. Hi Sally. Fear not: the first episode airs here in the UK on Thursday 8pm so I would expect it will pop on Youtube with a day or so….fingers crossed. Tightly crossed….

      1. oh, it has not aired yet!!!! I thought it was last week…. Ok, there is hope then…

rooting for you.. although I imagine by now the whole thing is almost done recording???? no, I won’t ask questions… I won’t… I will be patient…

  2. My dear friend from England watched it for me – she told me all about it, and of course now I am SOOOO jealous – she said that you did great and that there was a clip of you taking stuff to your colleagues and the concoction had pink macarons on top! (are you my twin brother by any chance? 😉

I do hope we can find a way to watch it here – will keep you posted

  3. Phil I have just finished watching the series and am gutted you didn’t win! I found you very inspiring, your cooking style is so enjoyable to watch, I really hope you get your own show. If you ever do a class teaching “average” home cooks how to do a perfect Sunday roast (your spuds looked divine!) please let me know!

    1. hi Lorna, thank you: I was very happy to be there, especially in the final, and was so chuffed for Pippa.

Oh I would love my own show: or to do more cooking on television.

I am actually going to be doing some cooking classes at home (in Surrey) from later in the summer.
